Sudoku, a number placement puzzle, is a worldwide rage in puzzle fads popularized by Japan, but originally created in America more than 30 years ago. The excitement is well deserved with its mix of simplicity and real challenge using pencil, paper, and a fair amount of erasing.

Sudoku is a number crossword puzzle with the simplest of rules, using the numerals 1 through 9 in each row and column, with no repeats. It is always a full 9 x 9 grid to fill.  “One other little rule then turns it into a puzzle with more challenge than appears at first,” noted Judith Schulz, puzzle museum director, and you are warned that this may keep you up all night long.”

The introductory session on Sudoku puzzles is for teachers, adults and families ages 10 and up. The one hour session will get you started on how the puzzle works, looking for clues, and strategies.

Registration is $6 per person, which includes extra puzzles to take home to solve and wrangle with. A discount is offered to members of Teacher Place & Parent Resources, a sister organization.

The session is offered at the non-profit, Logic Puzzle Museum, 533 Milwaukee Avenue, downtown Burlington, Wisconsin.  The Logic Puzzle Museum offers a separate 90 minute visit for hands-on mechanical puzzles throughout the week and year with a separate $6/person admission, with reservations.   Parking is free.   Phone (262) 763-3946 for reservations, parking is free and driving directions are on www.logicpuzzlemuseum.org

If you can't make these Sudoku sessions, other times are offered by appointment for 10 or more participants.

GROUPS:  we can come to you with the workshop ( Minimum fees plus mileage, expenses, and travel time.) Call for the group fee and to set up an appointment.   Bring your group here for best price.
